Hello, I'm Natalie Diaz.
Correct, those are not real babies in that stroller, but I am a mom of twins. I started out my career in the baby industry as a twin gear expert and morphed into who I am today. Different people would describe me as different things...
Who is Natalie Diaz?
My clients would say I'm a "lactation consultant, parenting motivator, child passenger safety technician, and childbirth educator."
My Parents would say I'm a "bestselling author" (I have two books under my belt to date. "What To Do When You're Having Two" and "The Newborn Twins Sleep Guide.
My pregnancy/parenting students would say "I'm a unique educator and passionate with a mix of professor and stand-up comic."
My team would say I'm a "community leader and world's OK'ist Boss" to multiple birth families as the Founder and CEO of Twiniversity.com.
Baby Gear companies would say I'm a "baby safety advocate and gear expert" for over a decade.
My fans would say I'm an "epic podcaster who has the most fascinating guests"
My twins would say "I make the best chicken cutlets in Little Italy"
My husband would say I'm "empathetic about making sure that moms and dads don't have a similar experience as we did."
My 100lb rescue mutt would say "She doesn't give me enough snacks and why can't she just rub my belly 24 hours a day, I don't see a problem with that?"
I would say, "I'm just a native New Yorker raising my kids to be the best humans they can be, and I want you to make sure mom and dads are the best versions of themselves possible for their own little humans "

My Story
While other kids were dreaming about becoming astronauts and pilots, I dreamed of being a mom. I patiently waited to hold my own baby in my arms. My life was full before kids, though. I have a degree, I traveled the world (9x to Africa alone!), I fell in love, got married, and it was finally time.
It wasn't as easy as they make it look on TV. Countless IUI's and a single IVF was what it took. Five years in total dedicated to trying to get a tiny embryo to just make me it's home. That IVF allowed TWO embryos to implant and let's just say...that wasn't in the plans.
As a native NY'er, born and raised and still living in Little Italy, my 3rd floor walkup was going to present a lot of challenges and we weren't moving. My family has been in Little Italy since 1872 (yes, you read that correctly) and we were staying.
I had a less-than-ideal pregnancy (I'll spare you the details) and was in and out of the hospital starting at week 27. I made it to 34 weeks on the day.
I delivered my duo vaginally with the help of Anna Barbieri, MD, FACOG, who at the time, was the doc on call, and who I'd never met. My delivery was worse than my pregnancy. I have a podcast episode with Anna if you want to hear the details. Let's just put it this way, I didn't think I'd ever meet my twins so I had my husband and sister name them. The moral of the story is that I'm fine. #Preclampsia
My twins spent 31 days in the NICU and my breastfeeding experience was horrific. Motherhood was not what I dreamed it would be.
The first few years of my twin's lives were filled with many doctor appointments, therapy visits, and so much more that I never went back to a "real" job after delivery. I couldn't. There was no time for that. I was a full-time mom to my duo.
This story is a long one, and I'm going to cut it off there. One day, over a Titos and soda with two limes, I'll fill in the rest for you. But for know just know that my own personal experience has lead me to become the woman, mother, and professional I am today.
I founded a company called Twiniversity in 2009 and have spent each and every day making sure that parents DO NOT have the same experience of feeling lost, isolated, and confused as I did. Each day is dedicated to you if you'll let me help.
